The story behind the Baxter Springs Field of Dreams on Route 66 baseball/softball complex is the culmination of a dream that could only take place in America.

One average American high school teacher and baseball coach had a dream to build baseball/softball fields for kids in the area to play on. Fields they could call their own... fields they could help build and maintain.

A non-profit organization corporation was formed. The support of the community and surrounding area allowed a dream to become a reality.Six years later, after fundraising efforts and hard work the fields are truly a sight to see on "Old Route 66".

Each year visitors traveling Route 66 for the US and foreign countries stop to take pictures and ask about the complex. Many ask if this is THE field of dreams. We believe it IS!
